The HiP Machine returns to Owen Sound

Presented by All Things Music, The HiP Machine returns to the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound on Thursday, April 29, 2027, for a live celebration of the music of The Tragically Hip.

Inspired by the band, the man, the machine… The HiP Machine brings you the music of The Tragically Hip the way it was meant to be heard - live.

Darryl Aspin of Hitcher fame made his mark captivating audiences in the Durham Region with his strong vocal ability and high-energy performances. Behind Darryl is a band of talented musicians: guitarist Mike Rewegen, drummer Seth McNamara, firefighter and bassist Stephen Reid, and lead guitarist Mike Marinuk.

After six years as a founding member of another Ontario Hip tribute, Mike Marinuk brings his experience to performances that draw closely from the albums and live recordings. Drawing on his work in previous projects, Mike has also helped shape a concert experience that goes beyond the music itself, adding a visual element that deepens the connection to the songs.

For many, The Tragically Hip was the ultimate live band. Their music carried an energy and presence that could only be felt in person. The goal is to bring a little of that feeling back, along with the memories we all share.

The lobby, gallery and bar open at 6:30 PM, auditorium doors open at 7:00 PM, and the performance begins at 7:30 PM. Standard tickets are $44.07 CAD, with youth tickets for those under 18 priced at $21.47 CAD.
